Hello Guys... I was asked to film a family friend G3 deer hunt. To my knowledge this was his first deer hunt. He was one of the 35 to get the G3 deer tag. Overall the hunt was awesome we saw some amazing animals throughout the weekend. This footage does not give justice to how amazing the views, animals, and people really are. Part 1 of 3 | Part 2: youtu.be | Part 3: youtu.be I spent several weeks traveling overland from San Francisco all the way to the south of the Baja Peninsula, and I fell in love with the contradictions of Baja. It is at once desolate and teeming with life. The inland deserts are punctuated by lush oases that then give way to the warm Gulf of California - also known as the Sea of Cortez. During my time inland, I visited my friend Ronhel's family. We went on a hunt for wild pigs, and, for the better part of a day, we relentlessly tracked a pig and her baby. Just when we were about to head back, the dog found her. I grimaced as the pig let out its last breath, and rode in the back of the pickup with her when she was bled out. he hunting and butchering of pigs is a regular occurrence in Baja, especially for celebrations. I learned how to de-skin a pig and attempted to help butcher it - but I did not prove adept at that! I have newfound respect for the animals that effortlessly end up in my local supermarket... Even in early season, deer hunting can be productive
The months of September and October are considered by many deer hunters to be the pre-game warmup for the "real season" when the rut begins. At that point, the mature bucks drop their guard and go into search mode for does in heat. If the truth be known many a trophy has been taken in the early period before the rut ever starts and it can be persuasively argued that during these two months quality deer can be taken because they are less wary (especially during the first two or three weeks) and because their patterns are more predictable. Let's take a look at some things to consider in this early portion of white-tail season.
